TabDebt is a Chrome extension built by an independent developer from South Africa. This policy explains what data TabDebt collects, how it is used, and your rights.
TabDebt collects the following data locally on your device:
Tab activity data: The URLs and titles of browser tabs you visit, the time you spend actively on each tab, and calculated cost values based on your hourly rate. This data is stored entirely in your browser using Chrome's local storage API and never leaves your device.
User preferences: Your hourly rate, currency preference, tracking mode (all tabs or distraction tabs only), and selected domains to track. These are stored locally in your browser.
Pro license email: If you upgrade to TabDebt Pro, your email address is used solely to verify your purchase status. This is checked against our secure database (Supabase) hosted at a private endpoint. Your email is never sold, shared, or used for marketing.
TabDebt does not collect your name, physical address, phone number, financial information, passwords, health data, or the content of web pages you visit. TabDebt does not use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, or any third-party tracking tools.
All tab tracking data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. It never leaves your browser except for Pro license verification, which only sends your email address to our secure verification endpoint at tabdebt.vercel.app.
Gumroad: Used to process Pro subscription payments. Gumroad's privacy policy applies to payment processing. TabDebt does not receive or store your payment details.
Supabase: Used to store Pro purchase records (email and purchase confirmation only). Data is stored securely and used only to verify Pro status.
Vercel: Used to host the Pro verification API endpoint.
Local tab tracking data is stored in your browser until you clear it via the extension settings or uninstall the extension. Pro license records are retained as long as your subscription is active.
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by going to TabDebt settings and clicking "Wipe the evidence". To request removal of your Pro license record, email us at tabdebt@gmail.com.
TabDebt is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
